Welcome to A. R. Turner Elementary! I am so honored to be the principal at A.R. Turner Elementary. We are looking forward to working with your child. We believe that a partnership between home and school is necessary for the success of our students.
We are excited about our school and the opportunities for our students. There will be many wonderful events throughout the year for everyone to participate in at school. We hope you will be a part of our learning community in as many ways as possible throughout the year. We are always seeking volunteers to help in various ways, so please let us know if you are interested in helping. Our PTO President, Mrs. Jade Rosier, and our outstanding PTO Board are all dedicated and enthusiastic about the activities and events at Turner Elementary.
Attendance is very important to the success of our students. Our instructional day begins at 8:25 AM and a student is counted tardy after 8:25 AM. We begin our dismissal at 3:40 PM. Please make every effort to have your child present for the entire day. When a child leaves early, he/she misses valuable instruction. In order to improve our instructional time, this year any combination of 4 tardies or leave earlies will affect the perfect attendance awards each nine weeks. We know emergencies arise occasionally, so please visit with your child’s teacher if this happens.
I am looking forward to this school year. I know that A. R. Turner Elementary has the very best faculty, parents and students around. I encourage you to visit our school and participate in the various activities we have throughout the year.
