Jennifer Ellison holds a Masters in Education Administration and recently served as Assistant Principal at The Rusk School, a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) magnet school in Houston ISD.  The campus was rated Exemplary for the 2010-2011 school year.  Her experiences also include developing a STEM based robotics program for students that encouraged experimental design and engineering.  As a science lab/lead teacher, she prepared 5th grade students for the TAKS test and 100% of the students met the standard.

“I believe in creating a learning community that is built on mutual trust, respect and caring, where teachers are an essential part of the decision making process,” stated Ellison.  “My philosophy is that all students can learn and achieve when expectations are set high, instruction is data driven, and the learning environment is conducive to excellence."

With over 25 years experience in education, Jeni Bristol has served as Director for the Center of Professional Development and Teaching at Texas A&M International University in Laredo.  She has also been a campus principal, an assistant principal, a school support team specialist and a teacher in Laredo.  Most recently, she has worked as an External Instructional Coach for Educate Texas, working with various campuses across the state to improve student learning and teacher effectiveness ensuring that students were college-ready.  All of the campuses were rated either Recognized or Exemplary.

“I understand the process of having Internal and External Coaches who deliver training, work collectively with teachers and staff, and set goals and outcomes for campuses based on a strategic, data-driven plan,” stated Bristol.  “Positive communication and relationships with students, staff and the community are essential for success.”

“Willis ISD will benefit from the vast array of experiences and insight of both Ms. Ellison and Ms. Bristol,” said Dr. Bret Jimerson, WISD Superintendent.  “They will enhance our efforts to create optimal learning environments for our children.”
